Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was excited to give over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.

“Last September, I had the chance to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an unbelievable experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a crucial part of this community.”

Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to recognize her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they get to make nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume support along with money-management and job classes to help people get back on their feet.

Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.

“All the team members were so thrilled that we had this food drive for them, and they even took time to show us their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
