What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Chief/Bauer Service Experts is here with a couple of the most common A/C problems in Champaign.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Chief/Bauer Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity could cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is restricted. If you can check these issues, you may be able to discover the problem; if not, give Chief/Bauer Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause major cooling troubles. Another thing that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Chief/Bauer Service Experts will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be back in business. Note that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Chief/Bauer Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
