Chief/Bauer Service Experts in Champaign always writes about how our technicians are NATE-certified, and while it sounds comforting, what does it really mean?
NATE is an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence and, as mentioned on their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization was developed by and has been supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not all people in the industry are required to be certified through NATE. The certification is discretionary and technicians can provide heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration services without being certified by NATE.
It’s important to Chief/Bauer Service Experts that our experts are NATE-certified to be sure we are sending the most qualified and trained technicians into your home. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-certification assessments validate real-world working knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for technicians. The exams are knowledge-based exams that assess the technician’s knowledge of these standards.
Since Chief/Bauer Service Experts focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification (not refrigeration), there are only specific areas relevant to our technicians. NATE exam candidates may obtain installation and/or service certification in one or more of the talent areas listed below:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
